Larry Baer, San Francisco Giants CEO Proudly Leads Professional Baseball Team


Larry Baer, the SF Giants CEO is a CEO in constant motion and a businessman who loves baseball.

As far back as his high college days, at the University of California at Berkeley he actually served as a play-by-play radio announcer for the Oakland Athletics on UC Berkeley’s KALX radio, where he also served as sports director and station business manager.

After graduating in 1980 from UC Berkely, the Giants CEO promptly joined SF Giants as the club’s marketing director.

Mr. Baer held that position for a couple of years until he left the club to attend Harvard in its MBA program, and he was granted his MBA in 1985.

After achieving his MBA, Larry went to work for both Westinghouse Broadcasting and CBS Broadcasting.

In 1992, Larry rejoined the San Francisco Giants, this time as part of a new owners group determined to keep the Giants in San Francisco.

Larry Baer started out as Executive Vice President, in 1992, in 2008 he became the Giant’s club president, and in 2012, Larry was named as the Giants CEO, a position which he has held ever since.

During his first year as CEO, the Giants captured the world series, and they repeated again as champs in 2014. And of course, under the new baseball leadership team, the Giants also managed to get capture the World Series in 2010.

One of Larry’s greatest accomplishments, however, was overseeing and leading the design and development team of a new baseball field, not known as Oracle Park.

The baseball stadium, completed in 2000 is among the elite, premier baseball stadiums in the league and is a real jewel for both baseball fans and the city.

A multiple recognition leader from both UC Berkely and Harvard, the SF Giants CEO is a true believer in the American economy and leadership.

Married and with 4 children, Larry believes in personal involvement in his family and his co-workers, which he describes as the key to his successes. See this page for more information.
